  • After an amputation, 50% of those people will die. Worse death rate than most cancers: (Prostate cancer 8%, Breast cancer 23%, Colon cancer 39%) 
  • Having a wound immediately doubles ones chances of dying at 10 years compared to those without Diabetes 
  • Approximately 80% of diabetic related amputations are preventable 
  • Every person with Diabetes should see a diabetic foot specialist at least 1 time per year
