- The Best Foot Forward is happy to provide diabetic shoes and protective inserts, each calendar year, to those residents meeting specific criteria who are covered via Medicare.
- Residents are eligible for one pair of shoes and up to 3 pairs of inserts per calendar year. In order to qualify, Medicare mandates that specific coverage and documentation requirements be met.
- We will take care of the necessary paperwork and requirements to ensure that your resident both obtains, and is happy with, their new shoes.
- Diabetic shoes are available to all diabetic patients that are actively being treated for diabetes via their PCP and that meet any one or more of the below criteria:
– Previous amputation of the other foot, or part of either foot, or
– History of previous foot ulceration of either foot, or
– History of pre-ulcerative calluses of either foot, or
– Peripheral neuropathy and evidence of callus formation of either foot, or
– Foot deformity of either foot, or
– Poor circulation (arterial insufficiency) in either foot
